Call of War

War games like Call of Duty should be allowed because it is a game and it and it helps the military recruit people for war. Our country is as strong as it because its recruiting department is really good. This lets our troops have as much backup as it needs. I know that in call of Duty game it makes war look like a game, but when you sing up for the army you he to go through rigorous training. After the training you can always resign.  I feel that more games like Call of Duty should be created.
To begin with, the resign that America is so strong is that our army is strong dedicated and we have a lot of people in it so that we will never die down. We owe this to our recruiting system. One way this is good is we have advertising that support our troops and we have many things that encourage people to go into the army. We also have interesting way for people to know about war like Call of Duty, which is good. We also have the G.I bill that has the government pay for some of our army’s education for four years.
In addition to, having a powerful army recruiting system, we also have a rigorous training system that involves pushing the human body to its limit. If you fail this course you are not allowed to join the army anyway. This disqualifies anyone who just joined the army because war looked cool in a video game. In fact I play Call of Duty and I will say that I am pretty good at it, but I would never want to join the army because there are sometimes in a level where I die more times then I kill other people. I would also not want to risk the fact of me dyeing to know if I’m good at KILLING someone in real life, which in itself I frown upon.
Even though, playing C.o.D is fun it is frustrating. There are times that it feels like there one thousand people against you and I think that would be a turnoff to joining the army. There has been many studies that show that when people play video games their heart rate to increase that makes people flustered and agitated. The reason people continue to play C.o.D is because when they continue to play Call of Duty they become better. When people play do well they feel a feeling of accomplishment.
In conclusion, I feel that call of duty should stay on the shelves at stores because it is a business that makes money and is fun to play. In the end it is not harming anyone because it is helping our army grow stronger. There is also rigorous training that will discourage anyone who does not know what he or she is getting into at that moment. That is why Call of Duty should still be sold in stores.

Imperalism in IROBOT

Imperialism is a topic that is seen all over the world. It is also seen in movies all the time.  The movie that has an underlying theme of imperialism is a movie called “IROBOT.”  This movie is about how man has gotten so smart with technology that they cannot control it and it eventually takes over. This has an underlying theme of imperialism because it shows that technology is stronger than men so it takes over. A few key point are that at the begging of the movie the protagonist disliked that humanity relied all on robots. Then at the turning point of the movie there was one stray robot that killed his creator. After that we find out that, that robot was actually created to kill all the other robots that were turning evil. Finally we find out that the robots wanted to take over the world because they thought the humans made too many errors and were irresponsible.
This movie is a perfect example of imperialism because it shows that the robots thought they were superior to the humans, and that they thought if they took over the world it would make their outcome in life better. This is the exactly like imperialism, in that one nation takes over another nation to make their outcome better. America does this to Hawaii in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. They did it by having their marines come on to the coast of Hawaii and ask Queen Liliuokalani to sign over her nation to make ours better.  She signed it over peacefully but she did put up a legal battle for it.
Another part in the movie shows that the humans were doing fine on their own. This is like imperialism in that nations will take over other nations no matter if they are doing fine on their own. One nation takes over another nation so that they can become stronger and superior to every nation in the world. There is a part in the movie where it shows the hero drowning and a little girl drowning at the same time and a robot comes down to save them and it saves the hero because he just had a higher percentage of living also show a little bit of imperialism. This is showcased in this scene because how nations take control of one another is a lot of mathematics involved to see if they can take over the other country.
In conclusion, “IROBOT” shows a lot of imperialism. In the reason that its basically one type of thing taking over another. There is also so scenes where you have to look deep to realize that there is imperils there. When one thing takes control of another thing that can sustain itself is never good. It shows that they think that they are better then everyone and will eventually lead to their own downfall or demise. That is why “IROBOT” shows underlying themes of imperialism throughout the whole movie.

Teach a new way!

I think we should teach younger generations a new way. We should train them for what they want to be in the future at a young age. There is just so much more knowledge now-a-days then there was in the past. This would also help to make fewer mistakes when they actually  join the work force. This means if your going to be a mathematician you shouldn't have to learn English in high school because it would take up too much memory. That is why we should teach the younger generation a new way to learn.

Blood rage U.S. is a joke...

I have researched and there are a lot of cases in which the U.S has lied about incidents happened and the government used that to distort the peoples perception. One case that a lot of people don't know about is pearl harbor. The attack in Pearl Harbor wasn't a surprise attack but actually the government did intercept a message coming Japanese' officials. The government used this so that they could get people to want to fight in WW2. This is really sick and twisted because so many people lost their lives. We could have warned our troops and be ready for them. We also then could have countered with much more force.

learning pwns gaming!

Gaming could easily affect the way someone learns. In example the Oregon trail helps people understand the decisions that people would have to do while on the Oregon trail. There are now so many gaming games out there now that is even hard to own them all. There is a whole company that makes just learning games that that is leap frog. They help toddlers learn numbers and letters using there favorite t.v characters. This is even entertaining to me because it lets me interact with cool things while I'm learning. This will also really help people with visual learning remember member.

I want to know the truth!

Countries shouldn't be aloud to be able to keep stuff out of their text books. They know their history was rough and did some horrible things it happened and you cant just pretend it never happened. That would be the equivalent of me robbing a bank and just not telling anyone i did it. If people love their country they are not going to change their mind just because of something that happened in the past. In fact if every country just left out their own history then their would be gapping holes in history and it wouldn't make any sense.

"History is a lie!" "....duh....we know"

History is the commonly agreed upon because history is usually only told from the winners side. In fact a quote from my favorite teacher was "only winners tell stories."(Mr.Meechin) This is true because the losers cant really tell a story if they're dead. Also the winners will always make them selves look good in the story. So even if they did do horrible cruel things, people will not know about it. No one ever wants to make themselves look bad and so people never look at both sides of the story. That is why History if the lie commonly agreed upon.

"Learn your history, sunny!"

History is defiantly important. It is what makes up the whole world because everything has a history. History is important because it repeats itself. We see many examples of this throughout history. One example is the two people that wanted to rule the world. This was Napoleon and Hitler. History is so important that equals the past. The past equals us. So is there s no history then there isn't any of us.

Hollywood vs real life

The Hollywood cowboy wasn't that far off from the real life, hard-working cowboy. To name a few things Hollywood did do right was the clothing that the cowboys wore. All of the cowboy’s cloths had a purpose for wearing them. The cowboys’ undershirt was usually cotton for comfortability. The shirt didn't have pockets so they usually wore vests so that they could hold small items in pockets. They had hats and jackets to protect them from the rough elements of the country life. High leather boots protected the cowboys’ feet and ankles from the brush. The cowboys’ boots were also pointed so that they could easily fit their feet into stirrups of an animal. The high arch and big heel of the boot also made it harder for the cowboys’ foot to slip out.
One cowboy that was really good at documenting all of this was Erwin E. Smith. He took a lot of pictures of the cowboys’ life. He lived the cowboy life and loved sharing it with everyone.
Another thing Hollywood did correctly was the cowboy's equipment. Ranching started in Spain so most of the equipment such a saddles, bridles, ropes, and bedrolls had a lot of characteristics of the Spaniards. The cowboys most valuable equipment was his trusty steed; the horse. Ever Since the 1500s people have been herding animals from one place to another they have had a horse. These horses came from Mexico because the Spanish brought them over. The sad fact is that most of the horses did escape. These horses were named "mustangs" a word that comes from the Spanish word mestaƱos which means "wild horse". The cowboys used horses because they could sprint at very high speeds for over 1/4 of a mile. There strong hind legs and broad shoulder also made is easy for them to carry a high enough of stuff.
At the ranches there were plenty of jobs to do. There usually was one ranch boss a couple of wranglers and a cook. At the top of the chain were the ranch bosses. He told everyone what the hell to do. Wranglers would be the people that would herd the animals to specific locations. They would also have to "rope" any animal that would try to get away. This means they would make a lasso and through it over the animals neck. Then with a pull would make the animal topple over. After that they would lead the animal over to the rest of the heard. In addition to that, if they wanted that specific animal for dinner they would bring it over to the house and butcher it. This usually wasn't that clean. The ranch boss usually took the good meat to do whatever he wanted to do with it and gave the wrangles the bad meat to eat off.
Just like how there is seasonal work in agriculture; there is seasonal work in ranching. There are four cycles just like how there are four cycles in agriculture. These cycles are back-breaking and are called the spring roundup, the trail drive, the fall roundup, and winter work.
Now it seems that a cowboy only did hard work but that isn't true. At the end of the day the cowboy was tired and hungry but for fun they usually played card games, sung, dance, and had a good time. The cowboys must fun tie was at night at the campfire. This is where the cowboys told stories to one another. These stories were usually about adventure and romance.
In conclusion Hollywood did tell a good amount about a cowboys life but they missed a lot of the life at the ranch.

NEW LAND YES! oh crap....

The immigrants coming to America at the turn of the century must have been going through a swarm of emotions. They were hearing great tales of new land that had streets paved with gold! This though was also the biggest con. When entering America the immigrants came to Ellis island which is one of the nicest places in the north. So when people arrived they experienced a  feeling of "wow this is really nice!",but when they got off the island you could go to New York or to New Jersey which are both dirty places. A lot of immigrants were also rejected because America had a quota of how many people they could actually take in. When they found this out they must have been either crying or trying to fight there way into the new country. This is disturbing, but in truth life cant be a basket full of roses.

Would you rather work or have a soul?

The work for textile workers must have been intense. From the lyrics of "the song of the shirt" you can tell that the workers work to the bone and can either work full time or not work at all because someone can easily replace them. Even the adults never had a definite job because there were kids who could work back then. They were even better then adults because they were able to crawl through small holes to fix the machines. The children also didn't have to be payed as much as the adults. On top of these grueling conditions there were no labor laws and they could have been forced to work 12+hrs a week. This work is ridiculous and unacceptable.

idea>war!

A war starts and ends with an idea. So the idea must be greater then the war. If a war starts and then people notice which idea is greater more people will join the side that hurts the least amount of people either morally or physically. In the video the lieutenant is asking his man to fight for him for the good of people. If the general asked to kill civilians it might have been a whole different outcome because that would be unmoral. That is why a moral idea can win a war.

Lincoln does the best for himself and the country.

The one that freed the slaves in everyones eyes was Lincoln. The truth is that he did write the emancipation proclamation but all that did was tell everyone he wanted free slaves in the south ,but at that time he didn't control the confederate states of america, so that really didn't do anything. What Lincoln really did was unite the union and the confederate states of america. He wanted the confederate states of america and the union to come back together to make the Untied States of America because they would be stronger together then apart. It would also look bad on his part to become the president that split up the United States of America. That is why Abraham Lincoln wanted to unite the two rather then focus on slavery.

sadly everyone is a tiny bit racist...

Stereotypes are widely known because everyone takes on the beliefs of our parents. That means that we never really lose our heritage because our father would always tell use there views in life and when your little you think your parents know everything. Another reason people might know that there are stereotypes is because some people use them in jokes and lyrics today. I think it is sad that people still think it is funny because it shows low intelligence and it really is funny to make fun of someone else's differences. This does not make it right but it is the reason why people are still fighting over color today.

active government does nothing!

I think that a government which governs least is the best government. this is because the people should do what they want to, and if a government in too controlling the people will not have freedom to do what they want. There are two kinds of people in the world. The kind that survive so they can see life roll bye and people that live life to the fullest. If a government is too active it makes the people who just want to survive easier for them, but harder for the people that want to get far in life. So the government that governs least is the best government!
